After breakfast, drive through the fertile crater highlands where the Iraqw people cultivate wheat, corn, and coffee. Pass through the Ngorongoro area and stop at the main gate for ticket collection before continuing to Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti, Tanzania’s second-largest park, features diverse habitats such as short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps, mountains, and lakes. Bizarre rock formations called kopjes dot the landscape and are often home to predators. Depending on the season, witness the migration of thousands of animals. Your guide will know the best spots to find and view the wildlife. You will spend the night at a lodge/camp.

Begin your day with an early morning game drive around the Seronera area, with breakfast boxes allowing for a leisurely exploration. In the Seronera region, you’ll often see wildebeests and zebras near lions and other predators like leopards and cheetahs. After a picnic lunch, continue your journey to the Ngorongoro Crater. Upon reaching the crater rim, enjoy the breathtaking views of the 600-meter-deep collapsed volcano. Stay overnight at a lodge or camp.

After an early breakfast, descend the steep and narrow road into the magnificent crater floor. The slopes are forested, but the landscape soon changes to savannah. Here, you have the chance to observe the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard – in just a few hours. Additionally, see warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. After a morning of game viewing and a picnic lunch, you will leave the crater in the early afternoon and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the early evening for a debriefing with a Maxmilian Adventure representative.
